Plans for Googong’s $6 million state-of-the-art recreation hub have been released along with news that the facility will be open for business at the same time as the township’s first residents arrive.
The Anglican Diocese of Canberra and Goulburn has announced it will expand its educational presence at Googong to create the first Anglican Kindergarten–Year 12 school facility in the region.
On Friday 7 December at the Consult Australia awards in Brisbane, Googong Township received yet another “gong” to complement its already long list of industry recognised awards.
More than 900 people packed the Royal Theatre at Canberra’s National Convention Centre to hear CIC Australia’s Chief Operating Officer, Tony Carey, reveal the vision for the new Googong township.

In May 2011, the Australian Government granted approval for the Googong township under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (the EPBC Act).
Another major milestone has been reached at Googong with agreement between CIC Australia and the NSW Government for land to be set aside for two government schools and a fire station at the township.
Googong will be one of the Canberra region's pioneers of sustainable transportation thanks to a new agreement with Better Place (Australia) to install electric car charging infrastructure throughout the township.

Googong's evolution has reached another major milestone with the endorsement of its $292 million Voluntary Planning Agreement by Queanbeyan City Council.
Today's Canberra Times report relating to groundwater at Googong highlights an important area for CIC Australia and one that we and our team of technical experts has been working on for more than six years.
A new accessible, co-educational, low fee and open entry primary school has been confirmed for Googong and will be built by the Anglican Church in time for the 2015 school year.

Googong's innovative Integrated Water Cycle (IWC) project has concluded its public exhibition period and is now on its way to the NSW Department of Planning for further evaluation and refinement in conjunction with CIC Australia. A determination is expected from the Department in the second quarter of 2011.
The December issue of Australian Property Investor identifies the greater Queanbeyan/Googong area as being on the cusp of a population boom, suggesting earlier purchasers at Googong could benefit from the associated demand for housing over the coming years.
