Alkimos Aquatic and Recreation Centre to begin construction in January 2025

The Alkimos Aquatic and Recreation Centre has ticked its final box with construction set to begin in January 2025.

The facility will be located across from the new Alkimos train station and will feature indoor and outdoor swimming pools, gym and fitness facilities, sports courts, creche, cafe and changerooms.

The centre, set for completion in October 2026, will serve as a recreational hub for residents in Elavale Estate.

Welcome Home Event 2024

On Sunday 1 December 2024, we hosted the Welcome Home and Chalk the Walk event at the Elavale Sales Office. The event aimed to bring together both long-term and new residents, fostering connections and building relationships within our growing community.

We were thrilled to have 10 attendees join us for morning tea, where we celebrated our neighborhood by decorating the Sales Office sidewalk with colorful chalk art. The kids had a fantastic time getting their faces painted and took home a little goody bag as a special treat.

Thank you to everyone who joined us—we look forward to seeing you at our next community event!

Christmas Closure 2024

November Parents and Carers Catch Up

On Sunday 24 November 2024, the final Parent and Carer Catch Up of 2024 took place at the Elavale Estate Sales Office playground. The weather was perfect and we had a lovely group of 10 attendees gather to chat about what family life is like in the area. We even had a family come along who were still building in the estate, excited for their new adventure and wanting to connect with their community early on. The residents chatted amongst themselves over morning tea, talking through their experiences living and preparing to live in the Elavale Estate. Thank you to those who attended and we hope to see you In 2025!

October Parents and Carers Catch Up

On Wednesday 23 October 2024, Elavale Estate hosted the second Parent and Carer Catch Up of 2024 at the Elavale Sales Office Playground. The event was an opportunity for Parents and Carers in Elavale to connect with each other, meet new people and build relationships with stakeholders, whilst also identifying community champions and opportunities for the development of community-based groups. Plus, staff member from Playgroup WA talked with families about the transition to school program and the ways in which Playgroup WA can support families to engage with and lead Playgroup sessions.

A big shout out to Shorty’s Burgers and Dogs who provided dinner for all those who attended. This was our biggest turn out for an event in Elavale so far, with 28 people coming along. Thank you to those who attended and we hope to see you at our next one in November!

Yanchep United Football Club 2024 Season Sponsorship

Elavale Estate were proud sponsors of Yanchep United Football Club (YUFC) for season 2024. This collaboration brought an array of community engagement both on and off the field. With this sponsorship, YUFC was able to purchase new playing kits for 2 of their U11 and U13 teams which prominently featured the Elavale Estate logo, and flags with the estate logos were also prominently displayed around the grounds on match day. We would like to congratulate the U11 team who will be participating in the Bunbury and Armadale Cups in September and wish them the best of luck. Thank you to Yanchep United Football Club for a successful season together, strengthening the community spirit and fostering a positive environment for young athletes to thrive.

Opening of Eglinton Train Station

The Yanchep Rail Extension officially opened on Monday 15 July 2024, marking a significant milestone in Western Australia's public transportation infrastructure. This major project extends the northern suburbs rail line by 14.5 kilometres, introducing three new stations: Alkimos, Eglinton, and Yanchep. The new station is within walking distance from Elavale Estate and ensures that residents have better access to public transportation, enhancing their ability to commute to work, school and other essential destinations. The new rail line is a welcome addition, promising to enhance the quality of life for residents in Elavale.

Get to Know Your Neighbours at Elavale

Elavale recently hosted a Get to Know Your Neighbour Event at the Elavale Sales Office Playground, offering residents a chance to meet both their new neighbours and those who have been part of the community for some time. With generous support from Freedom Fairies and Perth Facepainting, the event was enhanced by their artistic creations, bringing joy to both children and adults. Attendees also enjoyed refreshments provided by Kuditj Kitchen throughout the evening.

The atmosphere of the event was warm and relaxed, with residents mingling effortlessly, eager to make new connections. Thank you to those who came along and we hope to see you at the next community event!

Perths fast growing property market

REIWA has reported on the latest CoreLogic data, revealing Perth’s home value index lifted 3.8% when compared with three months ago, making it the fastest growing major market in Australia. Properties continue to sell at a faster rate than they did last year, with median days to sell sitting at just 21 days, down from 43 days in January 2020.

First Home Loan Deposit Scheme extended!

An additional 10,000 spots for the Federal Government’s First Home Loan Deposit Scheme (FHLDS) have just been released!

Usually first home buyers with less than a 20% deposit will need to pay lenders mortgage insurance. Under the Scheme, eligible first home buyers can purchase with a deposit of as little as 5% (lenders criteria apply).

The new release of places in the scheme came into effect on 1st July 2020. This can be used ON TOP of Government stimulus packages AND First Home Buyers Grant!

The announcement means you may not require as big of a deposit as you first thought. Hurry, there's limited spots until 31st December 2020! Check out if you're eligible below.

Mitchell Freeway extension shifts into high gear

In a media statement released yesterday, the State Government have announced that two building contractors have been shortlisted to kick start the $215 million Mitchell Freeway extension. 

The extension will be from Hester Avenue in Clarkson to Romeo Road in Alkimos (indicated on the below map), and is set to be a welcome addition for locals!
