From the Peet Team, we wish you and your family a safe and happy festive season.

It's certainly been a big year for us, and we are excited to see what the future holds for our community. 

We will be taking a short break over the Christmas period. Please note that our Sales and Information Centre will be closed from Tuesday 24th December 2024 and will re-open on Saturday 4th January 2025 by appointment. 
 
In the meantime, we wish you and your family a very special and safe festive season and a Happy New Year!

Movida Family Mingle

On Thursday 17 October 2024, Movida Estate teamed up with the Child and Parent Centre Swan for a fantastic event for Movida families! 

Despite a little rain, we welcomed 25 enthusiastic attendees. The day was packed with fun activities for the kids, including sensory bins, arts and crafts, outdoor play, and catchy sing-alongs and even a face painter.

Attendees were served up a delicious BBQ lunch, complete with fruit platters which everyone loved! While the little ones played, parents had the chance to mingle and connect with local heroes, including educators from Child and Parent Centre Swan, the City of Swan Community Development Coordinator, and the Principal and Vice-Principal of Middle Swan Primary School.

It was a wonderful opportunity for families to discover local services that can help them thrive, all while enjoying a fun-filled day together. What a great way to build community and support for Movida families!

Movida Hub Mingle 2023

The first Movida Hub Mingle Event, hosted by Midvale Hub in collaboration with the Child and Parent Centre, successfully brought together 30 residents and their families to engage with various family service providers in the community. Teams such as the Midvale Hub Parenting and Playgroup Teams, City of Swan Community Development Rep, Ngala’s HIPPY Program, and Midland Scouts showcased their impactful work, offering activities like reindeer food making, Christmas crafts, story time corners, and water play. The Midland Scout Group's gesture of providing gourmet hot dogs at no charge added a generous touch. The event not only fostered community connections but also highlighted the significant contributions of family service providers, leaving a positive impact and setting the stage for future events!

WA Premier Mark McGowan has just announced a further $20,000 Building Bonus between June 4, 2020 and Dec 31, 2020 to build a home.

This is on top of the $25,000* federal HomeBuilder grant that was announced on June 4 2020 as well as the $10,000* First Home Owners Grant. So, Western Australians who are eligible for the Commonwealth HomeBuilder grant could receive up to $55,000* in bonuses!

Plus – if you’re a first homebuyer:

• With the WA Stamp Duty Concessions, that means you could qualify for up to a HUGE $69,440* in benefits!
• And, if you need to borrow over 80% of your property value, you can apply for the First Home Loan Deposit Scheme and avoid paying Lenders Mortgage Insurance (LMI).

Peet Welcomes HomeBuilder Grant

The Federal Government has revealed its HomeBuilders scheme which will provide $25,000 to eligible Australians to build or renovate their home.

What is it? The new grant will give Australian home buyers access to a $25,000 grant to go towards the cost of building a new home up to the value of $750,000, or to assist with renovations of between $150,000 and $750,000.*

What does this mean? If you’ve been planning on building or renovating your home, now is the time to do so! Imagine how a $25,000 grant could help with your new home purchase. The grant comes into effect immediately and is available to couples with a combined income of less than $200,000 per year and individuals earning less than $125,000 per year.

Why now? The HomeBuilder is available for a limited time, so if you’ve been considering purchasing a new home, it is the perfect time to start that process now. HomeBuilder requires contracts to be signed between 4 June 2020 and 31 December 2020, and construction to commence within three months of the contract signing.

The First Home Loan Deposit Scheme is here

The Federal Government’s First Home Loan Deposit Scheme has come into effect!

The scheme aims to help eligible first home buyers on low and middle incomes gain a foothold in the property market. They now only need to have a minimum 5% deposit and won’t be charged Lenders Mortgage Insurance, with the National Housing Finance and Investment Corporation (NHFIC) providing a guarantee for the rest!

The announcement means you may not require as big a deposit as you first thought. Hurry, there's only 7,000 spaces left this year! Check out if you're eligible below.

Winning edge for local footy club

The mighty tigers at the Midvale Junior Football Club have been kicking goals at Ron Jose Park for 65 years this year and they are still going strong with several teams looking to make the finals once again this season.

With more than 200 young footballers ranging from four-year old Auskickers through to Year 10’s registered this year, Peet’s Movida Estate was pleased to extend its partnership with the club into its third year to provide a range of new equipment to make training and game days a whole lot easier for coaches and players alike.

Summer of cricket ahead

We are pleased to announce that we have partnered up with Swan View Cricket Club as they plan for next season's summer of cricket. 

With more than 150 current players, and many ex-players and their families still involved with the club, Movida Estate is providing $2,500 to support an inaugural Coach the Coaches program. 

Sponsorship Manager Shaughan Dunne said the funding would help improve the coaching capacity of coaches and senior players and allow for the purchase of basic equipment to utilise video technology in coaching.

The coaching workshops will be run by the Perth Cricket Academy ahead of the 2019-20 cricket season.

More than 70 kids aged five to 13 took part in the free Movida Estate Kids Ultimate Cricket Workshop at Farrall Oval on Sunday (18 November), hosted by the Perth Scorchers and Peet Limited.

The kids loved the chance to learn from the professionals with Perth Scorchers Taneale Peschel and Sam Whiteman on hand to share their tips, and teach a range of skills from batting to bowling, wicket keeping and throwing.

Swan View PS 75th Anniversary Fete

Swan View Primary School celebrated its 75^th anniversary with a fete full of fun for the whole community.

Students, staff and friends of the school, both past and present were in attendance to enjoy a variety of stalls, rides and delicious treats.

Highlights of the day included a dunking machine, pop up stalls and performances from the students. A time capsule which was sealed in the schools 50^th year in 1992 was opened, and a new time capsule was sealed – to be opened as part of 100^th anniversary celebrations!

Thank you to everyone who registered in Movida Estate’s ‘win a bike competition’ at Midlandia 2016. We are pleased to announce that the competition winner of the vintage bike is Donna Evans from Greenmount. We are even more pleased to learn that Donna has decided to donate her prize to help the firefighters who fought so bravely against the South West bush fires earlier this year. After witnessing first-hand the recent bushfires that tore through the Yarloop region, Donna is hoping to raffle the bike later this year to help buy new uniforms for the local crews and voulenteers. Congratulations Donna!
