Eco Fest 2024

POSTED ON 12 Dec 2024

On Saturday, 23 November 2024 we held the Brabham 2024 EcoFest at Brabham Primary School.

Despite the hot weather, there was a fantastic turnout of people with around 150 community members attending.

This year saw the addition of the Ellenbrook Lions Club who ran the sausage sizzle and provided ‘train rides’ for the kids.  Other stalls included a Toys Swap, a Clothes Swap, a Repair Cafe, a Plarning Craft activity, a FOGO bin planting stall and a DIY sustainable gift stall.

The Repair Café and the Clothing Swap proved to be a popular combination, with community members finding ‘new’ clothes to wear, that were then altered by the Repair Café team. The Repair Café team were also popular with young children who brought along their broken teddies to get new eyes, ears, and other body parts!

The event was a moment for community connections as well as an opportunity for the community to learn ways they can live more eco-friendly lives and understand the principles of the circular economy.

We wish everyone a happy festive season and look forward to seeing you again in the New Year.

Construction Update – Upgrade to Woollcott Avenue Commencing Soon

POSTED ON 12 Oct 2022

You may have noticed a significant amount of construction activity onsite recently, with Stage 5, Stage 8, and a stage adjacent to Youle-Dean Road all under construction.

The upgrade of Woollcott Avenue is also underway which when reopened, will complete the links through to many roads already built, including Aviation Blvd, Landing Rd, Cantilever Rd, Stabilizer Rd, Groundspeed Ave, Propeller Ave, Throttle St, Threshold St, and Aileron Loop.

This complex upgrade will result in the full closure of Woollcott Avenue (between Groundspeed Ave and Aviation Blvd) from 31st October 2022 to Christmas, and again in January 2023.

Please follow the detours in place during these periods, or utilise alternate routes. We will be sure to provide regular construction updates to your specific stage, so keep an eye out for these in your inbox.

The Future Whiteman Park Station is also well underway, with road closures currently in place and traffic being diverted along Isoodon Street. The Team at METRONET are currently building a temporary roundabout at the Youle-Dean Rd/Drumpellier Dr/Isoodon St intersection, so this should help with the traffic flow and access in this area.

For the latest construction information relating to the Whiteman Park Station and associated road closures, please visit www.metronet.wa.gov.au.

To date, approximately 50 families have moved into Brabham, and we look forward to welcoming many more neighbours to what is already a fantastic community, with many great community initiatives currently being planned for 2022 and beyond.

If you have any further questions on the current status of activities onsite, please email community@peet.com.au or call us on 1800 819 912
