A big thank you to the students of Mount Barker Waldorf School for helping us plant over 550 native trees!
The Peet Adelaide staff joined forces with 175 enthusiastic students from Mount Barker Waldorf School to celebrate National Tree Day and to enhance the natural beauty of the Bluestone, Mt Barker community.
The event, organised in partnership with Mount Barker District Council, saw 550 native trees and shrubs planted along the Bluestone Linear Park, a central artery winding through the heart of Bluestone, Mt Barker.
The collaboration aimed to not only boost the local ecosystem but also instil a passion for sustainability in the next generation and form a connection with the environment they live in. The carefully selected local indigenous species will create a flourishing habitat, complementing the existing creek line and surrounding reserves.
Elise Duffield, Assistant Principal at Mount Barker Waldorf School, said of the day "We have collaborated with the Mount Barker Council as part of National Tree Day, and we're thrilled to be a part of such a positive initiative at Bluestone Estate. Aside from being great fun, where our younger and older classes get to connect with each other, it is a perfect example of how we can work together with community to empower and engage students, while educating them on the importance of sustainability and maintaining native plant growth.”
