We will be taking a short break over the Christmas period. Please note that our Sales and Information Centre will be closed from Tuesday 24th December 2024 and will re-open on Saturday 4th January 2025.

Alkimos Aquatic and Recreation Centre to begin construction in January 2025

The Alkimos Aquatic and Recreation Centre has ticked its final box with construction set to begin in January 2025.

The facility will be located across from the new Alkimos train station and will feature indoor and outdoor swimming pools, gym and fitness facilities, sports courts, creche, cafe and changerooms.

The centre, set for completion in October 2026, will serve as a recreational hub for residents in Shorehaven Estate.

Shorehaven Stakeholder Sundowner

On Sunday 1 December 2024, Shorehaven Estate hosted our end of year Sundowner Event which brought 66 residents together at Shorehaven Primary School for a fun evening of connection and community. 

With Bingo cards in hand, everyone got to meet local groups like Yanchep Community Garden, Haven Church, Befriend, Yanchep United Football Club, City of Wanneroo, and the Two Rocks Yanchep Ukulele Group. It was a great opportunity for residents to participate in activities together as friends, family, and an overall Shorehaven Community.

As residents chatted with the groups, they enjoyed delicious Moroccan street food from Shak Shuka and refreshing mocktails. 

The event wrapped up with a lively Ukulele performance of greatest hits and Christmas carols and a lucky dip to crown the Bingo winner!
 
It was a fantastic evening of connecting, learning, and celebrating our community!
 

Perth Scorchers Cricket Workshop At Shorehaven Primary School

More than 200 students welcomed the Perth Scorchers to Shorehaven Primary School, to enjoy a hands-on cricket clinic, followed by signings with Lance Morris and Matthew Spoors, members of the Perth Scorchers Men’s team.

As the Principal Partner of the Perth Scorchers for the 24/25 season, Peet is bringing cricket to local schools and communities by sharing the iconic sport with cricket fans of all abilities and inspiring the next generation of players.

Brekky and Brews at Shorehaven Estate

What an amazing day at Shorehaven's annual Brekky and Brews Coastal Clean-Up on Sunday 13 October 2024! 

With 59 residents joining us, we celebrated our biggest turnout yet, showcasing the fantastic Shorehaven community spirit.

The morning kicked off with an inspiring briefing from the founder of the Quinns Rocks Environmental Group, followed by a power-hour clean-up. Together, we made a significant impact, collecting everything from fishing gear to plastic waste, making a significant impact on the health of the coastline and surrounding area. Afterward, attendees enjoyed a delicious fry up breakfast from Quinns Rocks Environmental Group and some refreshing coffee from Oceans 27, all while relaxing on the beautiful foreshore. The event was a positive way to come together as a community, enjoy the sun, sand, and have some chats with friends old and new.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated! Together, we're making a difference. We can't wait to see you all next year! 🌊💚

Shorehaven Primary School’s RUOK Day Morning Tea

This year the Shorehaven Estate supported Shorehaven Primary School to host an impactful R U OK Day event, promoting connection and wellbeing among all attendees.

The day began with the delightful aroma of barista coffee and a delicious bacon and egg fry-up enjoyed by everyone. This warm start set the tone for meaningful interactions throughout the event.

With a fantastic turnout, R U OK Day highlighted the community’s commitment to mental health. It offered a valuable opportunity for students, staff, parents, and community members to engage in heartfelt conversations and check in with one another by asking, “Are you OK?” This simple question emphasised the importance of open communication and the positive impact a simple conversation can have.

Well done to Shorehaven Primary School for hosting such a successful event!

New Bus Services in Shorehaven

Transperth has recently expanded its bus services to include Shorehaven Estate, enhancing residents' connectivity. The new 491 and 492 bus routes ensure that residents have better access to public transportation, enhancing their ability to commute to work, school and other essential destinations.

Opening of Alkimos Train Station

The Yanchep Rail Extension officially opened on Monday 15 July 2024, marking a significant milestone in Western Australia's public transportation infrastructure. This major project extends the northern suburbs rail line by 14.5 kilometres, introducing three new stations: Alkimos, Eglinton, and Yanchep. The new station in conjunction with the added bus services ensures that residents at Shorehaven Estate have better access to public transportation, enhancing their ability to commute to work, school and other essential destinations. The new rail line is a welcome addition, promising to enhance the quality of life for residents in Shorehaven.

Shorehaven Community Sundowner June 2024

On Saturday, June 15th, Shorehaven residents came together for the second Community Stakeholder Sundowner, held at Shorehaven Primary School. With a fantastic turnout of around 65 residents, the event provided an opportunity for community members to mingle and discover the array of amazing services Shorehaven has to offer.

The excitement was evident, creating a fantastic atmosphere as kids and adults came together to enjoy the afternoon. Attendees were treated to delicious paella and refreshing drinks from a mocktail bar, adding to the festive spirit.

Residents were also given a 'bingo' card with questions related to local community groups, services and businesses. Those who completed their cards went into the running to win a $100 voucher for Oceans 27.

A big thank you to everyone who contributed to making this evening a success! We look forward to organizing more activities like this in the future.

Super Sports Showdown Event

On Saturday 25 May 2024, the Shorehaven community came together for the Super Sports Showdown at Shorehaven Primary School. The event, which aimed to engage children and young people in the community, was a tremendous success, with tickets selling out within just two weeks of the announcement and 55 residents attending.

Gecko Sports organised exciting activities such as obstacle courses, a ninja warrior challenge, gladiator games, and multi-sports activities. Local artist Ell Kelleher provided vibrant face painting, adding a splash of color and creativity to the event. Additionally, the Cooee it's Bluey Ice Cream Van made a delightful appearance, offering treats to all attendees.

One of the standout moments of the day was a comment from Ariana, an 8-year-old who recently moved to Shorehaven from NSW. When asked about her experience living in Shorehaven, she said, “Like the community living together. Feel happy and everybody belongs.”

We look forward to organising more activities like this in the future and continuing to build a vibrant, supportive community.

Shorehaven Sundowner Recap!

A big shoutout to the 70 fantastic individuals who joined us for the Shorehaven Stakeholder Sundowner on November 10th! Despite a bit of wind, the spirits were high, and everyone dove into the activities with enthusiasm,

Residents embarked on a unique networking adventure armed with cards featuring questions for various stakeholders. It was a delightful way to spark conversations and learn about the invaluable services each organisation brings to the Shorehaven community.

Sustainable Saturday Event June 2023

This June we held the Sustainable Saturday event at Shorehaven Primary School. The event gave our residents the opportunity to swap items they no longer needed or wanted with those of other residents.

The kids went away with some great toys, and residents took home some pre-loved clothes. Mark from Tucker Bush spent time talking with residents about establishing a native bush tucker garden and how to cook with the different plants. Plus, The City of Wanneroo had some great waste education activities for the kids and adults, giving away sustainable prizes and gifts for the community.

Another successful resident community event at Shorehaven and plenty more to come!

Mitchell Freeway Extension set to open July 2023

The highly anticipated Mitchell Freeway Extension to Romeo Road north of Perth will officially open on Monday 10 July 2023. 

Once open, the freeway will extend north from Hester Avenue in Clarkson through to Romeo Road in Alkimos, which is just 2km from your home in Shorehaven. 

The $232 million project includes impressive public art on two underpasses and two bridge abutments designed by school children, an Aboriginal artist and local Perth artists.

Come and Try Day May 2023

On Saturday, the 13th of May, we held a beautiful community event on a gorgeous sunny day - the Shorehaven Come Try Day.

The day was a great success with 45 engaged attendees, with it being an excellent opportunity for residents to connect and gather through a shared experience. 

Here are some of our favourite highlights...
⚽️ The kids loved the soccer component; thanks to Northshore for supplying soccer facilitators 
💙 Special attendance of 6 volunteers from local community groups 
💭 Great conversations with the community were facilitated, with lots of positive feedback
🌎 A diverse group of ages, ethnicity, and background among the attendees. 
☕️ Free coffee provided by @Peet Communities that participants thoroughly appreciated! 
 
Overall, we received very positive feedback from this community event and can't wait to host MORE! Watch this space...

Perth is Australias fastest growing property market

REIWA has reported on the latest CoreLogic data, revealing Perth’s home value index lifted 3.8% when compared with three months ago, making it the fastest growing major market in Australia. Properties continue to sell at a faster rate than they did last year, with median days to sell sitting at just 21 days, down from 43 days in January 2020.

Additional spots for the First Home Loan Deposit Scheme have been released!

Additional spots for the Federal Government’s First Home Loan Deposit Scheme (FHLDS) have just been released!

Usually first home buyers with less than a 20% deposit will need to pay lenders mortgage insurance. Under the Scheme, eligible first home buyers can purchase with a deposit of as little as 5% (lenders criteria apply). This is because the National Housing Finance and Investment Corporation (NHFIC) guarantees to provide participating lenders up to 15% of the value of the property purchased!

The new release of places in the scheme came into effect on 1st July 2020. This can be used ON TOP of the government HomeBuilder grant, state government building bonus AND First Home Buyers Grant!

The announcement means you may not require as big of a deposit as you first thought. Hurry, there's only 10,000 spaces available until 31st December 2020! Check out if you're eligible below.

Build and Save up to $55,000* towards your new home!

WA Premier Mark McGowan has announced a further $20,000 Building Bonus between June 4, 2020 and Dec 31, 2020 to build a home.

This is on top of the $25,000* federal HomeBuilder grant that was announced on June 4 2020 as well as the $10,000* First Home Owners Grant. So, Western Australians who are eligible for the Commonwealth HomeBuilder grant could receive up to $55,000* in bonuses!

Plus – if you’re a first homebuyer:

• With the WA Stamp Duty Concessions, that means you could qualify for up to a HUGE $69,440* in benefits!
• And, if you need to borrow over 80% of your property value, you can apply for the First Home Loan Deposit Scheme and avoid paying Lenders Mortgage Insurance (LMI).
• Sign up to receive our FHB Toolkit, for expert advice, weekly step-by-step guides and exclusive videos

Peet Welcomes HomeBuilder Grant

The Federal Government has revealed its HomeBuilders scheme which will provide $25,000 to eligible Australians to build or renovate their home.

What is it? The new grant will give Australian home buyers access to a $25,000 grant to go towards the cost of building a new home up to the value of $750,000, or to assist with renovations of between $150,000 and $750,000.*

What does this mean? If you’ve been planning on building or renovating your home, now is the time to do so! Imagine how a $25,000 grant could help with your new home purchase. The grant comes into effect immediately and is available to couples with a combined income of less than $200,000 per year and individuals earning less than $125,000 per year.

Why now? The HomeBuilder is available for a limited time, so if you’ve been considering purchasing a new home, it is the perfect time to start that process now. HomeBuilder requires contracts to be signed between 4 June 2020 and 31 December 2020, and construction to commence within three months of the contract signing.

Clearing permit sought for future Shorehaven Primary School

The Education Department has applied to clear 1.72ha of the 3.5ha site, in preparation for the Shorehaven school opening in 2022 with a capacity for 650 students from Kindergarten to Year 6.

Mitchell Freeway extension shifts into high gear

In a media statement released yesterday, the State Government have announced that two building contractors have been shortlisted to kick start the $215 million Mitchell Freeway extension. 

The extension will be from Hester Avenue in Clarkson to Romeo Road in Alkimos (indicated on the below map), and is set to be a welcome addition for locals!

An update - playground closures

The Federal Government’s First Home Loan Deposit Scheme has come into effect!

The scheme aims to help eligible first home buyers on low and middle incomes gain a foothold in the property market. They now only need to have a minimum 5% deposit and won’t be charged Lenders Mortgage Insurance, with the National Housing Finance and Investment Corporation (NHFIC) providing a guarantee for the rest!

The announcement means you may not require as big a deposit as you first thought. Hurry, there's only 7,000 spaces left this year! Check out if you're eligible below.

Exciting school news for Shorehaven

A brand-new Primary School is coming to Shorehaven in 2022!

This week, the State Government announced construction for the Alkimos (Shorehaven) Primary School (planning name) will commence in late 2020. 

Located on Skysail Avenue, the new school is set to officially open for students in 2022. 

Alkimos (Shorehaven) Primary School will accommodate 650 students in permanent classrooms from kindergarten through to year six. 

As the Shorehaven community continues to grow, this new and exciting school will help relieve enrolment pressure at the nearby Alkimos Beach Primary School. 

Peet is thrilled with the announcement which will ensure the local community has convenient access to a range of quality education options. 

Treasures of Shorehaven back for 2019

We had an amazing time at our second annual festival of arrrrr and fairy dust down at Waterfront Park! 

On Sunday 3rd November, we had a spectacular FREE family fun day, full of plank-walkin' pirate activities and magical fairies and mermaids. 

There were pirate led treasure hunts, crafts at Mermaid Lagoon and inflatable fun at Pirate Cove, plus a BIG DIG down on Shorehaven beach with plenty of spectacular prizes uncovered!

Train line extension to begin construction next year

The METRONET Yanchep Rail Extension is on track to begin construction in 2019, and will extend the Joondalup Line from Butler to Yanchep. Shorehaven residents will be able to enjoy the convenience of the new Alkimos Train Station located just a short journey away, with an easy 41 minute commute to Perth CBD.
