The whole of Tonsley’s electrical infrastructure has been designed to run off an independent embedded network.
CleanPeak Energy, owns and manages the power solution including the future installation of up to 16,000 solar panels located on the MAB and TAFE SA roofs, and a 4MWh battery system that will store and balance the power needs through the district.
CleanPeak Energy will distribute green energy generated on-site and natural gas to all homes resulting in a minimum of 30% of all power used being generated on-site. Being connected to the District Energy and Recycle Water Scheme also means that the precinct will be better insulated from power blackouts from the main Adelaide grid.
This type of system is the first at this scale within South Australia and is already providing significant benefits to Tonsley in achieving its green star community rating.

Every home at Tonsley Village is connected to the latest fibre optic technology.
This network, provided by Opticomm – a national leader in fibre networks – benefits from Tonsley Village being a Gig City zone. Leveraging the location, Opticomm have partnered with local Adelaide ISP Escape Net to be able to offer a consistent 1GB internet speed to residential properties. To experience these speeds, each home at Tonsley Village is connected at 1GB for free for their first month after moving in. No matter what speed you need now, you can be assured that the capacity of the network will futureproof all homes at Tonsley Village well into the future.
