Development Update 5
9 April 2025
As the name implies, Jumping Creek, is defined by natural creek line formation that has helped to craft the landscape. In fact, there are two creeks in the estate, Jumping Creek and Valley Creek, which separately meander through the site before joining on their way through to the adjacent Queanbeyan River.
In recognition of the important role these creek lines have played in the history of the site, the entry sculpture was inspired as a ‘creek ribbon’, drawing a gentle waving line that also directs you into the estate. This entry sculpture was designed by our landscape team at Spiire, with the final blue coat applied in December 2024.
The creek lines have also been a focus for the civil works team these past months.
Restoration of the creek lines chain of ponds, erosion control, removal of weeds, and establishing plantings and rock beds along the waterways has been ongoing.
Three creek crossings including two culvert crossings and a bridge are being finalised this month in advance of those stages and to support the restoration and management of the creek lines in the early phases.
Weed management practices and soil erosion repairs are continuing across the large open space parkland in the heart of the estate. We ask that you please keep out of these fenced works areas while this important work is completed.
A new viewing deck was unveiled at the highest point of the site at the end of Bushland View, which features a beautiful wedge-tailed eagle sculpture. The wedge-tailed eagle, or Malian, is an important totem of the local Nambri people. The viewing platform and sculpture was designed and built by Fleetwood Urban in consultation with the Nambri people and was completed in October 2024.
It is exciting to see that construction of the first homes in Jumping Creek are well advanced with the first residents due to move in within weeks. In keeping with the large lot sizes these impressive new homes are custom designed and capitalise on the superb views across the bushland site.
Jumping Creek offers the largest suburban lots in the region, and yet it has all the convenience of and inner suburb being on the doorstep of the Queanbeyan CBD and just a 15-minute drive from Canberra City. This is truly a unique opportunity.
Our Sales Centre is open at the entrance to Jumping Creek at the corner of Ellerton Drive and Jumping Creek Road (click here for open times). The Centre offers extensive views across the site and a scale model to assist you in your discussions with our team. Escorted site visits are also available for the discerning buyer. We hope to see you there soon.
Sincerely,
JUMPING CREEK PROJECT TEAM
