Ahoy mateys...Pirate Ship Park opens!
The wraps are off Flagstone’s latest super playground and local shipmates couldn’t wait to storm the decks and swing from the yardarm.
At over 18 metres long, the “Intrepid” pirate ship is the biggest in Australia and the first model of its kind from international equipment supplier KOMPAN. Components were shipped from Denmark.
It is the feature attraction in Flagstone’s first neighbourhood park – one of a series being built in the community.
The new Pirate Ship Park is two minutes down the road, nestled between new homes in the Pioneer and Conquest precincts. It has picnic facilities and an orienteering course for beginners. The ship is designed to provide hours of imaginative fun for young sailors with activities on the upper and lower decks, stairs and climbing nets, bannister bars and a slide leading to a viewing port, treasure chest and lock, sleeping hammocks and play desks.
