Small businesses win big in
Flagstone local business awards
Flagstone’s best in the business won big at the first ever Flagstone Favourites Local Business Awards on Friday, with an awards ceremony at the Flagstone Tavern attracting more than 120 guests.
A total of 12 winners were selected out of 36 finalists across two awards: the People’s Choice and the Excellence Awards.
The People’s Choice Awards winners were determined by 3,238 public votes, while the Excellence Awards were judged by a panel comprising State Member for Jordan, Charis Mullen MP, Logan City Council Councillor, Natalie Willcocks, Logan Regional Chamber of Commerce Treasurer, Kerry Menck and Peet Flagstone Commercial Development Manager, Alex Cameron.
Flagstone Project Director, Troy Thompson, said the awards celebrated the success of individual businesses and the collective progress of the region’s thriving business community.
“We received an overwhelmingly positive response to our first ever Flagstone Favourites Local Business Awards, and on behalf of Peet, I’d like to congratulate all our entrants, finalists and winners. The standard of entries and the calibre of businesses was incredibly high, and it was a pleasure to celebrate the people and places that make Flagstone such a thriving community,” Thompson said.
“We have over 20 new families moving into Flagstone every month. This brings not only a growing demand for local places for the community to eat, shop and explore, but also a wealth of talented business owners and entrepreneurs. We received thousands of votes for our People’s Choice awards, which speaks to how our community proudly supports local businesses,” he said.
The Flagstone Favourites Local Business Awards are a Peet Flagstone initiative, supported by the Logan Regional Chamber of Commerce. The awards were a first for the Flagstone community, and also marked the first event of the soon-to-be opened Flagstone Tavern.
The Excellence in Small Business award was given to Australian Warfighters Coffee. Bee All Natural took home the title for Excellence in Innovation, and KWP Studios was named the winner of the Excellence in Community Spirit award. Businesses from retail to professional services, trades and home businesses took home the nine People’s Choice Awards. Full list of People's Choice Winners below.
Award winners received a free year of membership with the Logan Regional Chamber of Commerce, as well as support for marketing and tickets to workshops on social media to be delivered by Mondaze Media and product photography sessions by KWP Studios, which will help them continue to grow.
